A fatal motorcycle crash is under investigation by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers in Ashland County. The incident occurred when a Subaru Forester failed to yield to a stop sign and collided with a Honda Shadow motorcycle. The Subaru driver, a 76-year-old woman, was unharmed, but the motorcycle driver, identified as 51-year-old James Mcclurg, was airlifted to Akron City ICU where he later succumbed to his injuries. ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic collision involving a motorcycle in Savannah. This incident occurred at the intersection of SR 545 and West Main Street on Wednesday. At approximately 12:30 p.m., a 2015 Subaru Forester failed to adhere to a stop sign and was subsequently struck by a 1994 Honda Shadow motorcycle. According to authorities, the Subaru was traveling east on West Main Street while the motorcycle was heading north on SR 545. Fortunately, the 76-year-old female driver of the Subaru emerged from the crash unharmed. However, the motorcyclist, identified as 51-year-old James Mcclurg, sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Akron City ICU. Tragically, he passed away the following day as a result of his injuries. Assisting in the response were the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Savannah Fire and EMS, as well as Fireland’s EMS..
