TIFTON, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is seeking assistance from the public in locating a murder suspect involved in a fatal shooting incident on Monday. At approximately 8:36 p.m., the Tifton Police Department received a distress call regarding a shooting incident in the 1700 block of Belleview Avenue. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers discovered two males who had sustained gunshot wounds in a drive-by shooting. Tragically, one of the victims, identified as 43-year-old Alex Knighton, succumbed to his injuries, while the other victim, an 18-year-old male, is currently in stable condition.
Authorities have identified 17-year-old Damarion Dunn as the prime suspect in this shooting and have issued warrants for his arrest on charges of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of criminal damage to property. Although Dunn was last seen in the Albany area, it has been determined that he frequents the cities of Ashburn and Tifton as well, as confirmed by the GBI.
Given the potential danger that Dunn may pose, law enforcement officials caution the public against approaching him directly.
