Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A tragic incident unfolded in Midland, TX, as a 33-year-old man lost his life in a fiery crash, while four others sustained injuries on Monday afternoon. The Texas Department of Public Safety released a statement regarding the incident.

The victim, identified as Lorenzo Najera, was involved in a collision on Farm Market Road 1788 and County Road 140. According to reports, Najera was travelling southbound on Farm Market Road 1788 with three other passengers – a 32-year-old woman from Midland and two minor children aged ten and three.

An investigation into the crash revealed that Najera attempted to overtake a Peterbilt tractor-truck towing a trailer, also travelling southbound in front of him. However, Najera’s manoeuvre was unsuccessful, resulting in a collision with the tractor-truck’s front right side. This caused Najera to lose control of his vehicle and veer into oncoming traffic.

Subsequently, Najera’s vehicle collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck, causing it to be thrown off the roadway to the east, where it caught fire. Tragically, Najera was pronounced dead at the scene by the Midland County Death Investigator. The woman and two children in Najera’s vehicle were taken to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Additionally, the male driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck was also transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Remarkably, the driver of the Peterbilt tractor-truck emerged from the incident unscathed. The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed that the crash is currently under investigation, with no further details available at this time.
