Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) has released more information regarding the heartbreaking death of a 3-year-old girl who was discovered in a hot car last week in Columbia, South Carolina.

Sheriff Leon Lott addressed the media during a press conference, stating that there was no malicious intent involved in the tragic incident that led to the death of the young girl, identified as Armani Shoemaker. She was found in a hot car parked at the 1000 block of Parliament Lake Drive.

According to Sheriff Lott, Shoemaker’s parents had entrusted her to an adult caretaker while they took another child to a doctor’s appointment. However, at some point, Armani managed to wander outside and found her way into an unlocked and inoperable vehicle in the yard.

The cause of Shoemaker’s death was attributed to the extreme heat she experienced after being inside the car for an unknown period of time. When her parents returned home and discovered that she was missing, they immediately called 911 for help.

Upon the arrival of deputies, a search was initiated, and Shoemaker was eventually located inside the vehicle. Despite the deputies’ immediate efforts to administer CPR and provide life-saving assistance, it was tragically too late to save her.

Sheriff Lott emphasised that the incident was a devastating accident and reiterated the parents’ love and care for their daughter. He described Armani as a “perfect little girl” who enjoyed playing with bubbles and highlighted her parents’ desire to use their experience to raise awareness about car safety.

In a plea to the public, Sheriff Lott urged everyone to always ensure that their vehicles are locked, even when not in use, as a simple precaution that could potentially prevent similar tragedies from occurring. He stressed the importance of pressing the lock button on car doors, as it could have made a crucial difference in Armani’s case.
