Tragic Accident Claims Life of 67-Year-Old Woman in St. John the Baptist Parish
RESERVE, La. (WVUE) – A devastating incident occurred on Friday (Feb. 23) in St. John the Baptist Parish, resulting in the loss of a 67-year-old woman’s life. The Louisiana State Police reported that the woman, identified as Beverly Creecy, tragically passed away after her car collided with a school bus on Highway 44.
The school bus driver, 39-year-old Erica Fisher of Laplace, sustained minor injuries in the collision. Fortunately, the 28 students on board the bus were unharmed, according to the troopers on the scene.
Details of the Collision
The collision took place shortly after 3 p.m. when a 2021 Kia Soul, driven by Beverly Creecy, was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 44. The school bus, a 2016 Thomas Saf-T-Liner operated by Erica Fisher, entered the eastbound lane as it attempted to turn onto westbound Hwy. 44 from the Hwy. 3179 (East 22nd Street) intersection.
Despite being properly restrained, Beverly Creecy sustained serious injuries in the crash and tragically lost her life while undergoing treatment at a hospital. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by the state police, and standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers for analysis.
