CHENNAI: A tragic incident unfolded in the serene neighbourhood of Ennore on Monday evening, as a 65-year-old woman fell victim to a brutal attack by three men outside her residence. The peaceful streets of Ennore were shattered by the heinous crime, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.
The victim, identified as Bhagyam, was the beloved wife of Ayyavu and a resident of 2nd Street in Sathyavani Muthu Nagar in Ennore. The evening took a dark turn around 7.30pm when Bhagyam was peacefully sitting outside her home. Three men, riding a motorcycle, approached her with sinister intentions.
The men inquired about Bhagyam’s grandson, whom they claimed to be searching for. When Bhagyam denied any knowledge of her grandson’s whereabouts, one of the men brandished a sharp weapon and struck her on the head with a callous blow. The helpless woman cried out for assistance as the assailants swiftly fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of terror and despair.
