The Tragic Incident in Richmond’s East End
On a fateful evening in Richmond’s East End, a 19-year-old man tragically lost his life in a double shooting that shocked the local community. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, when Richmond Police Department officers were alerted to two individuals arriving at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.
Victim identified as Trimaine Reed
The victim of this senseless act of violence has been identified as Trimaine Reed, a 19-year-old resident of Richmond. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Trimaine succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The community mourns the loss of a young life taken too soon.
Second Victim Sustains Non-Life-Threatening Injuries
Alongside Trimaine, an unidentified juvenile male was also injured in the shooting. Thankfully, his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening by police. While the identity of the juvenile remains unknown at this time, it is a relief that his injuries were not fatal.
Investigation Ongoing in Richmond
The Richmond Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. The shooting took place in the 1700 block of North 22nd Street, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
