The incident took place as the students were en route to Tikkar Tal, a popular tourist destination in Panchkula, for an adventurous school trip. As a result of the accident, seven individuals were promptly rushed to the Sector 6 civil hospital for medical assistance.

Eyewitnesses from the local community of Morni revealed that the mishap occurred around 11am when the school bus, owned by Guru Nanak Public School in Mullanpur, Mohali, collided with the hills due to the driver’s failure to apply the brakes. The situation could have been far more catastrophic, as the bus narrowly avoided plunging into a deep gorge.

Residents present at the scene reported that seven students and teachers were immediately taken to the civil hospital in Sector 6 after complaining of various injuries. Among the injured were two students, Parneet and Simran, and two teachers, Geeta Sharma and Vinita.
