According to a medical report released on Wednesday, the victim was stabbed between 30 and 40 times by the assailant.
Security guards swiftly responded to the scene of the crime and managed to separate the two individuals, subsequently apprehending the suspect and placing him under arrest.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers quickly arrived at the location and identified the suspect as 25-year-old Dylan Ihmels from Henderson, Nevada.
Ihmels has since been charged with attempted murder and battery, both involving the use of a deadly weapon resulting in severe bodily harm.
As of Wednesday, Ihmels remains in custody at the Clark County Detention Center without the possibility of bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 31.
The weapon used in the stabbing was described as a “small knife,” as reported by the local Las Vegas TV station, KVVU.

Dispute Over Finances

Ihmels informed the officers that the altercation between the two men originated from a financial disagreement, according to KSNV, another Las Vegas TV station. However, he refused to provide any further details.
The victim sustained six significant stab wounds to the abdomen, as well as injuries on both arms, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Officers at the crime scene promptly applied tourniquets to both of the victim’s arms, as reported by the Review Journal. Additionally, a chest seal was utilized to stop the victim’s bleeding. Chest seals are typically employed on wounds located in the chest, neck, or abdomen.

Treatment for Suspect and Victim

The victim was immediately transported to the University Medical Center (UMC) for medical treatment. As of later in the week, no updated information regarding the victim’s condition was available.
Ihmels also received medical treatment at UMC for a cut on his cheek, left elbow, and right knee, according to KSNV.
A friend of the victim who was accompanying him back to the parked car did not appear to sustain any injuries during the incident.
The argument between the suspect and victim initially transpired at the Strat Hotel, Casino & Tower earlier in the day, as stated by the unidentified friend in their statement to the police.
The altercation and subsequent stabbings were captured by surveillance cameras at the California Hotel & Casino (The Cal), which is in close proximity to the Main Street Station parking lot.
