Jessie, also known as Willa, was on the brink of her senior year at Meredith College. The accident took place on NC-210 in Harnett County, where she and Eric Creech were traveling. His memory is also accompanied by a profound sense of loss for his sister, Leona Selena Creech, and his aunt, Jessie “Willa” Faye Harrington, who tragically shared his fate. The memory of his paternal great grandparents, Z.L and Jo Creech, and maternal great grandfather, Johnny Pearce, also echoes alongside.

A memorial service is scheduled to celebrate Avery’s life on August 16, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory in Wendell, NC. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation period from 9:30 am to 11:00 am for friends and family to pay their respects. Avery will find his final resting place at the Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Wendell, NC.

To honor Avery’s vibrant soul, attendees are encouraged to wear brightly colored attire as they gather to commemorate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully accepts memorial contributions directed towards the Southern Nash High School Marching Band.
