Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the shooting at Northpark Mall in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The suspects have been identified as Jamari Brown, James Cole Jr., and Kyandre Harris, while Jalen Carter remains at large. Cole, who allegedly shot himself in the hip while pulling out a handgun, was also charged. Brown and Harris have been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. Ridgeland, Mississippi (WJTV) – The Ridgeland police have apprehended three individuals in connection with the recent shooting at Northpark Mall. Police Chief Brian Myers has identified the suspects as Jamari Brown, James Cole Jr., and Kyandre Harris, all of whom are currently in custody. However, Jalen Carter, the fourth suspect, remains at large.

According to Chief Myers, Cole himself was the victim in the incident, as he accidentally shot himself in the hip while attempting to draw a handgun from his waistband.

Both Brown and Harris have been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. Each of them has a bond set at $8,500.

Cole, on the other hand, faces charges of discharging a firearm within the city, carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. His bond has been set at $11,000.

The shooting occurred on Saturday, August 12, shortly after 4:00 p.m. Witnesses reported that a group of six young men engaged in a fight in the mall’s food court area, resulting in a single gunshot.

Madison County deputies and Capitol police responded to the scene alongside Ridgeland police. Only one bystander sustained injuries from shrapnel but refused medical attention, according to Chief Myers.

The Ridgeland Police Department was alerted to a gunshot wound victim who had arrived at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Yazoo City. The victim was later identified as Cole.
