The deceased body of a woman from Georgia, who had been reported missing the previous month, was discovered in Alabama during the weekend. Myshonique Shontrell Maddox, aged 28, was reported as missing from Columbus on July 22. On Sunday, an individual contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office regarding a body found in a wooded area in Salem, Alabama, approximately 22 miles west of Columbus. The body was located near the Russell County boundary, as stated in a Facebook post by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The remains were subsequently transferred to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, where they were identified as those of Maddox. The investigation into this incident is being conducted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Georgia Police Department, and the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
