A photograph displayed above shows an image of a mother allegedly involved in a tragic shooting incident at a Home Depot in Pensacola, Florida. According to The Miami Herald, the mother is accused of aiding her son in carrying out the fatal shooting.

On August 11, 2023, Keith Eric Agee, 20, entered the store and fatally shot Brooklyn Sims, 18, who was a contract employee at Home Depot and the mother of his child, as reported by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Agee was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated battery. However, it was later discovered that he had not acted alone.

The authorities revealed extensive text message conversations between Agee and his mother, Sheila Agee, which confirmed her knowledge of his plans and her assistance in executing the shooting, according to the Pensacola News Journal. In these conversations, Sheila Agee urged her son to carry out the act, threatening him if he did not comply. She instructed him to wait until she had removed Sims from her vehicle before shooting her.

In a shocking response, Sheila Agee assured her son that he could proceed with the shooting as long as he did not harm her. This disturbing exchange between a mother and son left law enforcement officials astounded. Escambia Sheriff Chip Simmons expressed his disbelief in a Facebook post, describing the case as incomprehensible.

Sheila Agee also provided her son with information about Sims’ location during the shooting, specifying that she would be on the store floor to make it easier for Keith to find her. She concluded the conversation by stating that his actions would have no impact on her. As a result, Sheila Agee was charged with being an accomplice to first-degree murder and was apprehended in Alabama. She is expected to be extradited to Escambia County for legal proceedings.

During the incident, two other Home Depot employees sustained injuries. The entire situation has left the community shocked and saddened by the tragic events that unfolded at the store..
