A man has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting and killing a driver who ran over his son in Timberlake, North Carolina. The Person County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred when a family of three became stranded after their car ran out of gas on Dink Ashley Road. As they were walking back home, the 17-year-old son was struck by a truck, resulting in his tragic death. The driver promptly called 911, but the situation took a drastic turn when the father, identified as Chad Woods, retrieved a firearm and fatally shot the driver. Woods then proceeded to steal the driver’s car and return to their residence on Cedar Creek.
