An unfortunate incident took place in Islamabad, where a young orphaned girl, aged eight, met a tragic fate after being abducted while en route to a religious school. The lifeless body of the victim, Fatima Mazhar, was discovered near Naswar Chowk, within the jurisdiction of the Sumbal police station. This distressing discovery came after the little girl had gone missing the previous evening, prompting a search that ultimately ended in a heart-wrenching revelation.
The condition of the girl’s body revealed evident signs of torture, emphasizing the cruel nature of the crime that had transpired. Prior to this tragic incident, the girl had recently visited her grandmother in Chiniot. Police sources have indicated that the girl was strangled to death, and her body has been transferred to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
In response to this heinous act, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari has established a special team to conduct an inquiry, while also instructing the District Police Officer (DPO) to carry out a thorough investigation and submit a detailed report.
