In Northeast Nebraska, three individuals have been apprehended in relation to a report of gunshots early Saturday morning. The incident occurred in the Woodland Park vicinity near the local elementary school, prompting multiple calls to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office. A 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were initially detained near the school grounds. The 14-year-old boy attempted to flee but was later captured near his residence. Another 14-year-old boy, believed to be the shooter, was arrested at the home where the first boy had sought refuge. Both boys exhibited non-cooperation with law enforcement. The authorities discovered ammunition on the second boy and suspect that he disposed of the handgun subsequent to the shooting. Notably, all three teenagers were already under probation for previous offenses. While the two boys were detained, the girl was released to her mother. The gun has not yet been recovered, but it is thought to be in close proximity to the school. In the event that anyone locates the firearm, they are advised to contact the sheriff’s office at (402) 439-2212..
