The Craven County Sheriff’s Office in New Bern, North Carolina is currently conducting an investigation into the discovery of a man’s body, treating it as a homicide. The incident occurred on August 4, 2023, when deputies responded to a welfare check at 110 Ferry Rd. in eastern Craven County. Upon arrival, they tragically found the lifeless body of Torran Larenzo George, a 32-year-old resident of the aforementioned address. The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy, confirming that the cause of death was indeed a result of a homicide.

In order to gather crucial evidence, the Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators meticulously processed the crime scene and collected various items for further analysis. Some of these items will be sent to the State Crime Lab in Raleigh for thorough examination. Meanwhile, investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau have been actively canvassing the neighborhood and conducting numerous interviews. They are determined to follow every lead that may shed light on this case.
