Lateef Jamil Moreland, 23, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Alan Dale Huguley Jr. at a LaGrange hotel in January. A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the homicide of Alan Dale Huguley Jr. that took place at a hotel in LaGrange in January.
Lateef Jamil Moreland, aged 23, is facing charges of murder involving the use of a firearm in the fatal shooting of Huguley.
According to Lieutenant Chris Pritchett of the LaGrange Police Department, a warrant had been issued some time ago after Moreland was identified as a suspect in the murder that occurred on January 28. Moreland was located and arrested by authorities in Valdosta, Georgia on the outstanding warrant, and subsequently brought back to LaGrange by LPD officers.
On Wednesday, Moreland was booked into the Troup County Jail, where he is currently being held without bail.

The LaGrange police initiated an investigation into the case on January 28, 2023, after receiving a report of a shooting incident at the Quality Inn on Jameson Drive. Officers arrived at the scene shortly before midnight and discovered Huguley Jr. with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, where he succumbed to the injuries sustained during the shooting.
According to the police, two individuals were observed fleeing the scene after the shooting. The identity of the second person has not been disclosed by the authorities.
