The investigation into the case began when a community member reported her missing debit card, which she last remembered having while at an LAPD facility. She later discovered unauthorized transactions on her bank statement and was able to obtain photos of the suspect using her card at a home improvement store. The suspect was identified as Babaians by the authorities. LAPD Chief Michel Moore expressed his concern over the allegations and emphasized the need for accountability.
