Peoria Police are investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old intruder. The incident occurred at a residence on Duane Lane in Peoria. Four individuals arrived at the home, and one entered without permission, leading to an altercation with the residents. Gunfire was exchanged, resulting in the intruder’s death. The deceased has been identified as Ryan Garcia. Two individuals attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended by the police. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing. An inquiry is currently underway by officers from the Peoria Police department following a fatal shooting incident involving an intruder aged 18.

According to authorities, on the evening of August 7th at approximately 11:20 p.m., law enforcement responded to a shooting report at the address 12050 W. Duane Lane in Peoria. The caller stated that a known suspect was discharging a firearm within the premises.

Investigators believe that four individuals arrived at the property, with one of them trespassing without permission. A confrontation ensued between the residents and the intruder within the confines of the residence. This altercation escalated to the point where gunfire was exchanged, resulting in the fatal shooting of the intruder, identified as Ryan Garcia, an 18-year-old resident of Peoria.

Subsequently, two individuals attempted to flee the vicinity in a white Toyota Corolla. However, as law enforcement personnel were arriving at the scene, they intercepted the aforementioned vehicle and prevented its departure from the neighborhood. The occupants of the vehicle were apprehended and taken into custody. Additionally, a third individual was located in close proximity and detained. After being interviewed at the Peoria Police Department, all individuals were subsequently released.

Currently, no charges have been filed in relation to this incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
