A North Augusta man, identified as 24-year-old Danielson Gomez, lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Old Edgefield Road. Gomez was thrown off his motorcycle while traveling northward and pronounced dead at the scene. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the North Augusta Department of Public Safety are investigating the incident, with toxicology analysis pending. D.V. Wise reported

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic motorcycle accident that resulted in the death of a North Augusta resident. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday on Old Edgefield Road near Knox Avenue in North Augusta. The exact time of the accident was shortly after 2:00 a.m.

The motorcyclist involved in the accident has been identified as Danielson Gomez, a 24-year-old individual. Gomez was riding a 2012 Ducati 848, heading north on Old Edgefield Road at the time of the incident. Unfortunately, he lost control of the motorcycle while navigating a curve, leading to his ejection from the vehicle.

Regrettably, Gomez suffered fatal injuries upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is collaborating with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Furthermore, the toxicology analysis is currently pending, which will provide additional information regarding the presence of any substances that might have impacted Gomez’s ability to operate the motorcycle safely.
