In Ouachita Parish, a man from Monroe has been taken into custody and charged with various offenses, including Attempted Manslaughter, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Resisting an Officer, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

The incident occurred on November 28, 2022, when the Monroe Police Department responded to a shooting at the Oak Manor Apartments on Peach Street. The victim reported being involved in a verbal altercation with an individual named “Charles.”

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly displayed a handgun, causing the victim to leave the scene. As the victim was departing, the suspect reportedly fired shots at the victim’s vehicle. The suspect, identified as Charles D. Holiday, was subsequently issued an arrest warrant for Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Attempted Manslaughter.

On July 7, 2023, Monroe Police were summoned to the Oak Manor Apartments in response to reports of a male suspect making threats to shoot a woman and her son. Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspect, identified as Holiday, along with another male individual.

Holiday and the other male attempted to flee from the officers and were observed allegedly concealing firearms. They sought refuge in an apartment, prompting the officers to obtain a search waiver to investigate further.

During the search, law enforcement discovered a Glock 17 and a silver revolver in the bedroom of the apartment owner. The owner denied ownership of the firearms.

As part of the investigation, the victim was interviewed and confirmed that Holiday had threatened to kill her and her son. Consequently, Holiday was arrested and allegedly denied possessing a firearm.

Holiday was subsequently taken to the Ouachita Correctional Center, and his bail was set at £164,000..
