Before his highly anticipated Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match at Summer Slam in Detroit on Saturday evening, Roman Reigns made a special appearance on ESPN’s First Take alongside Stephen A. Smith. As a dedicated fan of the San Francisco 49ers, Reigns took the opportunity to share his Super Bowl prediction for his favorite NFL team.
During his appearance on First Take, Reigns, also known as “The Tribal Chief,” revealed his top-five Super Bowl contenders for the upcoming NFL season. Topping his list were the San Francisco 49ers, whom Reigns credited for their formidable defense.
Reigns confidently stated, “49ers all the way. It starts with the defense. If you can stop the run, you put the offense in a long third-down situation, and that’s a formula for success every single time. The defense is always there, we run the ball, we have weapons, it’s really just about figuring out the quarterback position, but we have a lot of talent there. I’m really expecting huge things — Super Bowl. Flirting with it for a while now, and I think this is the year.”
In addition to the 49ers, Reigns listed the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, at No. 2 on his list. The Philadelphia Eagles secured the No. 3 spot, followed by the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills to round out Reigns’ top five contenders.
