Tragic Crash Claims Life of Bicyclist in Fabius Township, St. Joseph County

Authorities from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office have identified the victim of a fatal crash that occurred over the weekend in Fabius Township. Heather Lynn Lafler, a 39-year-old resident of Three Rivers, tragically lost her life in the incident.

According to reports, law enforcement received a distress call around 11 p.m. last Friday regarding a collision involving a van and a bicyclist. The incident occurred at the intersection of S. US-131 and Millard Road.

Tragically, Lafler was pronounced dead at the scene by responding authorities. The driver of the van, identified as a 66-year-old man from White Pigeon, and his female passenger, fortunately, escaped the accident unharmed.

In their efforts to manage the situation, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from various local agencies, including the Three Rivers Police Department, Michigan State Police, Fabius-Park Fire Department, Three Rivers Fire and Ambulance, and Brokers Towing.
