Phoenix police have released an edited video that includes body camera footage from a recent police shooting incident. The incident occurred on July 17 near Seventh and Lincoln streets, when officers were called to a single-car collision. According to reports, a man driving a white car crashed into a pole and appeared disoriented.

Witnesses reported that the man walked away from the crash and exhibited erratic behavior. They also claimed to have heard six gunshots after the man left the scene. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the empty car with bullet casings inside. They then located the man near the railroad tracks near 18th and Harrison streets. They instructed him to get on the ground, but he continued to scream and walk away.

The situation escalated when the man pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officers. In response, the officers instructed him to drop the weapon, but he refused. This led to the fatal shooting of the man.

The officer involved in the shooting is a two-year veteran of the police department assigned to the Central City Precinct. An internal investigation is currently underway.
