The Pueblo County Coroner has identified the victim of a tragic incident that occurred on Saturday, July 29 in Pueblo, Colorado. The man was found shot to death along with an injured dog. The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) responded to a report of gunshots in the 1000 block of Berkley Avenue, near the State Fairgrounds, just before 10 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the lifeless body of the man and a wounded dog.

The Pueblo County Coroner has now confirmed that the deceased individual is Franklin Bruner, a 46-year-old resident of Pueblo. The PPD had already named a suspect at the time of the shooting, and Bruner’s death is currently being investigated as a homicide. Shockingly, this incident marks the 17th homicide in Pueblo in 2023, according to the PPD.
