Man and 16-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Murder in Ivanhoe shooting

IVANHOE, Calif. – The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 23-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy in connection with the shooting and death of a man in Ivanhoe. The incident occurred on Monday, July 24th, when deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Avenue 327 and Road 158.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man lying on the road with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Antonio Tapia Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. Following an extensive investigation, authorities were able to identify Ismar Ambriz, 23, as a suspect. He was apprehended and booked into the Tulare County Jail on a charge of murder.

Additionally, detectives identified a 16-year-old boy believed to be involved in the incident. On Monday, July 31st, a search warrant was executed, and the juvenile was taken into custody. He has since been booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility on a charge of murder.
