LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A tragic incident occurred in west Las Vegas on Sunday night as a woman lost her life after being hit by a vehicle, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Crash Details
The fatal crash took place around 9:55 p.m. on Tropicana Avenue, slightly east of Rainbow Boulevard in Las Vegas.
Based on evidence and witness statements, authorities report that a crossover vehicle, heading eastbound on Tropicana Avenue towards Rainbow Boulevard, collided with a 57-year-old woman who was crossing the street outside of a designated crosswalk.
Tragic Outcome
Tragically, the woman suffered injuries that were beyond recovery, and medical personnel determined she did not require transportation to a hospital.
Arrest and Impairment
The driver of the crossover, identified as 23-year-old Jenzel Navarro from Las Vegas, remained at the scene. Police suspect that Navarro was driving under the influence and subsequently arrested her on DUI charges.
