Police Investigating High-Speed Collision Involving Motorcycle and Pickup Truck

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Tragedy struck on U.S. 36 in Greenfield, Indiana, as a man lost his life in a two-vehicle crash, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred at 4:25pm on Sunday, prompting the response of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, McCordsville Police Department, and Fortville Police Department. Due to the severity of the crash, the Hancock County Fatal accident Crash Team was called to the scene.

The collision involved a 2006 Kawasaki Motorcycle and a 2014 Chevy Silverado Pickup. The Kawasaki, driven by a male individual, tragically resulted in his death. On the other hand, the Chevy Silverado, operated by a male driver, did not sustain any reported injuries.

According to witnesses, the Kawasaki was traveling at an extremely high speed, overtaking several vehicles in a no-passing zone while heading east on US-36 towards Fortville. The deceased driver has been identified as 30-year-old Robert Siuzdak from Avon, Indiana. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Meanwhile, the Silverado was crossing both lanes of U.S. 36 to continue north on County Road 400 West. Evidence suggests that the Silverado had already crossed the eastbound lane and was in the process of crossing the westbound lane when the collision occurred. The Kawasaki, attempting to pass other vehicles, collided with the side of the Silverado.

The driver of the Silverado, identified as 39-year-old Bradley Adkins from Greenfield, Indiana, was wearing his seatbelt and escaped the crash without any injuries. Adkins has been cooperative with the investigation and provided his statement. Authorities have stated that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the accident.

As the Hancock County Fatal accident Crash Team conducted their on-scene investigation, U.S. 36 had to be closed for approximately two hours to ensure a thorough examination of the crash site.
