30-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Clay County

A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning in rural Clay County, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old man. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that John Paul R. Scheidecker was the victim of a hit-and-run crash, according to a news release by Melissa Evans, Director of Clay County Emergency Management.

The incident took place on Northeast 120th Street, between Missouri Route A highway and Fishing River Road, north of Liberty. Clay County Sheriff deputies received a report of a possible hit-and-run fatality crash around 4 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered Scheidecker’s lifeless body. Shockingly, the vehicle involved in the accident did not stop, leaving investigators desperate for any leads. Those with information related to the incident were urged to contact the authorities at 816-407-3723.
