Two-Vehicle Crash in Stanislaus County Claims Life of Patterson Man
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 30, 2023) – A tragic two-vehicle accident on Los Palmas Avenue in Stanislaus County resulted in the death of a man on Tuesday night, July 25.
The fatal incident occurred just after 6:00 p.m. near Sycamore Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the victim was driving a westbound Toyota pickup truck on Las Palmas Avenue. Simultaneously, a 22-year-old Patterson woman was behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry, following the pickup.
For reasons yet to be determined, the pickup abruptly stopped, leading the Camry driver to collide with its rear end in an attempt to stop. The impact caused the pickup to veer off the road and crash into a tree.
Tragically, the pickup’s driver, identified as a 60-year-old Patterson resident, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Camry driver remained unhurt.
CHP stated that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash, and further investigation is ongoing.
