Orange County Medical Examiner’s report confirmed that Vanden Boom died due to blunt force trauma sustained from the fall. Deputies received a distress call at 5:33 a.m. on July 26, reporting an unresponsive man on the hotel grounds. Sadly, Vanden Boom was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reddit users shared their accounts of the incident, with one individual claiming that they were warned not to go on the balconies due to a medical emergency. “I’m pretty sure someone just died at our hotel. We got a call at 7:30 someone had a medical emergency and not to go on the balconies and then they had people redirecting us,” the user wrote.
