A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on I-180 in Fairfield Township, PA, leading to the closure of the eastbound lanes for several hours. The victim, identified as 72-year-old Barry Forsyth of Drumbo, Canada, lost control of his BMW motorcycle and was ejected into the passing lane, where he was struck by a truck. The crash resulted in fatal injuries, and Forsyth was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including the fire department, state police, and EMS. A tragic accident occurred on Thursday night in Fairfield Township, Pennsylvania, resulting in the closure of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 180 for several hours. The crash, which took place at 5:22 p.m. near the Fairfield Road Exit, involved a motorcyclist who unfortunately lost their life. The Lycoming County Coroner, Charles E. Kiessling, identified the deceased as Barry Forsyth, a 72-year-old resident of Drumbo, Canada.

According to a news release issued by the coroner on Friday, the incident unfolded when Forsyth was riding his BMW motorcycle in the curb lane of eastbound I-180. Suddenly, he lost control of his bike and was ejected into the passing lane, where he was struck by a truck. The impact resulted in severe injuries, ultimately leading to his death at the crash scene.

Various emergency response agencies were involved in handling the incident, including the Montoursville Fire Department / EMS, PA State Police, Susquehanna Regional EMS, Montoursville Police, PennDOT, and Lycoming County Sheriff.
