At least one person was killed and seven others were injured in weekend shootings in Chicago. The victims’ ages range from 18 to 61. The shootings occurred in various locations, with some victims being shot by unidentified suspects who fled the scene. Over the weekend, Chicago experienced a wave of shootings that resulted in one fatality and seven injuries. The victims’ ages ranged from 18 to 61.

The first incident occurred on Friday evening in Archer Heights. A 19-year-old man was shot outside and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in fair condition. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Shortly after, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg while standing on a sidewalk in Chicago Lawn. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition.

In another incident, a 26-year-old man was shot while exiting his vehicle in the South Maple area. He fled the scene but crashed his vehicle a block away. He was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A fight between two individuals in the West Luther Street area turned deadly when one of them produced a handgun and shot a 61-year-old man in the head. The victim, identified as Jeronimo Lenin, was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Additional shootings occurred throughout the weekend, with victims ranging from a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg to a 20-year-old woman shot in the chest and back during an argument.

The Chicago police are actively investigating these incidents and urge anyone with information to come forward.
