A woman has been shot and killed in Hartford during a domestic dispute, resulting in one man being taken into custody. The incident occurred on Monday night when the Hartford Police Department received a 911 call reporting a domestic incident at a residence on Oakland Terrace. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a man in his 30s who had been pistol-whipped. He informed the officers that his mother had been shot.

Officers entered the home and discovered a 63-year-old man, identified as Lance Logan, with a firearm within reach. They were able to detain Logan quickly and located the victim, 64-year-old Carolyn Williams, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s son was also injured in the altercation but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Authorities have developed probable cause to charge Logan with murder and have subsequently drafted an arrest warrant. He has been transported to the Hartford Police Detention Division, where he faces charges of murder, criminal possession of a firearm, second-degree assault with a firearm, and violation of a protective order. Logan is currently being held on a $3 million bond.

Tragically, this incident marks the 17th homicide in Hartford this year. The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter.
