In a shocking incident in Pinellas County, Florida, a man was charged with DUI after allegedly leading deputies on a chase following a shooting in Treasure Island. The incident took place when the Treasure Island Police Department received a call about shots being fired at cars along Gulf Boulevard. The man, later identified as Ronald Giovino, reportedly fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.

Pinellas County deputies spotted Giovino’s car and attempted to stop him, but he continued to evade them, leading them on a chase through Pasadena and St. Petersburg. During the pursuit, Giovino hit a traffic sign, causing it to hit a passing vehicle, and narrowly avoided another vehicle.

The chase eventually came to an end when deputies executed a PIT maneuver, causing Giovino to crash into a vehicle and a vinyl fence along Causeway Boulevard South. Giovino was then taken to a hospital and later released, while the deputy involved in the pursuit was treated for minor injuries and also released.

Giovino now faces multiple charges including aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving with property damage, felony DUI, violation of probation for DUI, and resisting an officer without violence. Additionally, he is also facing pending charges from the Treasure Island Police Department.
