Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A witness reported a concerning incident in Beverly on Tuesday evening. The witness saw a bicyclist fall off his bike at the intersection of Lovett and Ives streets at 6:55 p.m. According to the police report, the cyclist’s jacket got tangled in the spokes, causing him to lose control. The cyclist, a 36-year-old resident of the area, was not wearing a helmet and did not have any identification on him. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment. His bike was left in the station sallyport for safekeeping.

On Wednesday, a man flagged down a police cruiser at the intersection of Park and Pleasant streets at 2:07 a.m. He requested to be taken to Salem Hospital and was transported via ambulance.

Another incident on Wednesday involved a disabled green pickup truck at the intersection of Cabot and Myrtle streets at 10:55 a.m. The vehicle had a disabled front-right wheel and axle. The driver, who was found outside the truck, showed no signs of impairment from drugs or alcohol. The truck was towed by New Beverly.

The general manager of a building on Park Street reported chalk graffiti on the brick wall of the depot. The graffiti included names like Brenda, “Donalad,” and Kristen. The officer approached a homeless group across the street and identified the responsible party. The individual was instructed to remove the chalk immediately to avoid vandalism charges.

At 2:02 p.m., an officer responded to a report of harassment by a tenant at 490 Rantoul St. The tenant had given the landlord two weeks’ notice of moving out, but the landlord demanded immediate eviction. The tenant was advised on legal steps to take, including seeking a harassment prevention order.

Later in the day, an officer dealt with a minor motor vehicle accident where the operator falsely claimed damage to the vehicle. The officer inspected the vehicle and found no evidence of damage, warning the operator against filing a false claim.

Emergency services were dispatched to Cabot Street at 7:27 p.m. for a woman with an injured leg. The woman had fallen and scraped her shin on rocks at the beach, causing her to faint briefly. She refused medical treatment after evaluation.

Peabody Police Reports

On Thursday in Peabody, a resident reported a suspicious incident at her mother’s residence, where the door was found unlocked with lights and TV on. Police investigated the property and found no signs of forced entry.

Additionally, iStorage at 137 Summit St. reported a stolen trailer, prompting a police response. A concerned woman called to report her father, who had memory issues, missing after taking a cab to Cambridge. Tracking efforts were initiated to locate him.

Early Friday morning, a woman reported a purse theft at Independent Electric Supply on Railroad Ave. The suspect was described as a white female with specific features.

Later, a Peabody man was arrested for driving under the influence and possessing Class B drugs after being stopped by the police at the Knights of Columbus on Main St.

Animal Control received a complaint about loose dogs in the neighborhood, leading to a warning issued to the dog owner regarding leash laws and licensing requirements.

Emergency services responded to New England Orthopedics on Centennial Drive for a patient unable to move his legs, requiring medical attention.

Marblehead Incidents

On Thursday in Marblehead, police responded to various complaints, including a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Ocean and Atlantic avenues. Officers were dispatched to multiple locations for reports of larceny, forgery, or fraud.

One incident involved a welfare check on a female transported to Beverly Hospital by ambulance. A general complaint on Broughton Road required police intervention as well.

At Heritage Way, a report of larceny, forgery, or fraud was investigated by local law enforcement.

Salem Police Updates

On Wednesday in Salem, officers responded to reports of fraud and scams at various locations, including Leach St. and Summit St. A 67-year-old man was arrested for assault and assault with a dangerous weapon at Upham St.

Incidents of larceny and missing motor vehicle license plates were reported on Read St. and Jefferson Ave. respectively. Police handled juvenile issues at Bridge St. and Washington St.

On Thursday, disputes and disturbances required police attention at Colonial Terrace and Linden St. The day saw responses to motor vehicle accidents, fraud reports, and a violation of municipal ordinances at various locations.

Police efforts included addressing larceny at The Home Depot on Traders Way and handling juvenile issues on Cedarcrest Avenue. An arrest was made on Washington St. for a violation of municipal ordinances.

Friday’s incidents involved larceny reports at Washington St. and Boston St., a dispute at Loring Ave., and an assault case at Salem Hospital.
