– Martha from Baby Reindeer hires aggressive US law firm.

Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Netflix has been issued a warning to ‘preserve evidence’ by Manhattan lawyers representing the woman identified as the real-life inspiration behind the character in the series “Baby Reindeer”.

Fiona Harvey has enlisted the services of the assertive New York law firm, The Roth Law Firm, known for their aggressive approach to advocating for their clients.

This legal action comes as Harvey prepares to file a lawsuit against the creators of the popular Netflix drama, alleging that the streaming giant and comedian Richard Gadd, who wrote and starred in the series, have misrepresented her in the show.

Harvey claims that she is unequivocally portrayed as the disturbed stalker character ‘Martha’ and asserts that the creators have profited significantly by spreading falsehoods about her.

The seven-part series is marketed by Netflix as a ‘true story’, not merely ‘based on’ one. However, the character ‘Martha’ is depicted as pleading guilty and serving a nine-month prison sentence, a narrative that Harvey refutes as entirely fictional.

Living in central London at the age of 58, Harvey adamantly denies any criminal record and asserts that the show’s portrayal of her is deceitful and inaccurate.

Internet sleuths quickly identified Harvey as the real-life inspiration behind ‘Martha’ based on clues within the story. She is now being supported by prominent British barrister Chris Daw KC, who is collaborating with the Manhattan legal team.

The Roth Law Firm, in a statement, cautioned Netflix, Gadd, and the production company Clerkenwell Films against tampering with any potential evidence in anticipation of legal actions.

The statement from The Roth Law Firm reads, ‘Fiona Harvey, the real ‘Martha’ on the television show Baby Reindeer, who was never contacted by Netflix or any person or entity associated with the show, has retained The Roth Law Firm in connection with her legal claims related to the production.

‘In furtherance thereof, steps are being taken to demand that Richard Gadd, Netflix and Clerkenwell Films, and any related individuals and entities, take all necessary steps to preserve evidence.’

The Roth Law Firm describes itself on its website as an assertive and innovative New York City law firm with a strong reputation as a premiere litigation boutique, known for its willingness to ‘take the gloves off’ when required.

Netflix, Gadd, and Clerkenwell Films have been contacted for their responses to these legal developments.
