KISSIMMEE, Fla. (TCD) — Authorities in Kissimmee recently apprehended a 27-year-old man suspected of capturing an inappropriate image of a minor at a local store, in addition to possessing other questionable media on his electronic devices.

According to a report from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on the evening of May 9 at a Target store. A concerned mother contacted deputies and informed them that an unknown man had taken an inappropriate photograph of her daughter as she was tying her shoelaces. The child, who was wearing a skirt at the time, was unaware of the photo being taken.

Sheriff Marco Lopez revealed in a statement obtained by WESH-TV that surveillance footage showed the suspect loitering around the store and appearing to target the young girl. The footage captured the man getting close to the child as she bent over to tie her shoe, at which point he allegedly took the illicit photograph.

The suspect, later identified as Daniel Mora, revisited the same Target location on May 16, prompting store security to contact the authorities. Mora reportedly confessed to law enforcement officers that he had taken the inappropriate photo of the child and admitted to having additional similar images and videos stored on his cell phone and computers at home.

Following his admission, Mora was arrested on a charge of voyeurism involving a minor. Further charges are expected to be filed as the investigation progresses.
