Arrests Made

The arrests were carried out over a five-day period, starting with the apprehension of Jairo Velasquez-Lopez, 22, who was identified as the getaway driver. Velasquez-Lopez was taken into custody on May 9 in the 800 block of East Rundberg Lane.

During questioning, Velasquez-Lopez provided a detailed account of the events of April 28, admitting to driving to the apartment complex with another individual, Giovany Perdomo, 20, and assisting in the homicide of Lowen Alberto Ordonez Lobo.

Surveillance and Arrests

Prior to the tragic incident, Velasquez-Lopez and Perdomo were observed conducting surveillance of the parking lot where Lobo had parked his vehicle at Villas Del Sol apartments on Rutland Drive. The authorities arrived at the scene shortly before 8:40 p.m. and discovered Lobo with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene within 10 minutes.

Following the shooting, surveillance footage captured Perdomo fleeing down a sidewalk and entering Velasquez-Lopez’s white Nissan Maxima. Law enforcement agencies meticulously tracked Velasquez-Lopez’s movements through the neighborhood using video evidence from various sources.

Cellphone Evidence

A cellphone search warrant was issued for Velasquez-Lopez’s iPhone, revealing incriminating communication with Perdomo. Data extracted from their devices placed them in the vicinity on the night of the incident, further linking them to the crime.

Perdomo was apprehended on May 13 on Bluff Springs Road after Velasquez-Lopez divulged his involvement. Perdomo disclosed that his colleague, Nixon Othoniel Marquez-Martinez, 32, had hired him to carry out the heinous act and compensated him with $6,000 the day following the shooting.

Charges and Custody

Marquez-Martinez was arrested on May 14 at his residence on Wells Branch Parkway. The trio, identified as Honduran immigrants by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, now face murder charges and are currently detained at the Travis County Jail.

Overall, the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies have led to the successful apprehension of the suspects involved in this tragic incident, bringing a sense of closure to the victim’s loved ones and the community at large.
