Accident – Death – Obituary News : NEW LONDON (WJON News) — The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update on the search for 39-year-old Shane White, a kayaker from Overland Park, Kansas, who went missing over the weekend.
Authorities are urging property owners around Nest Lake to thoroughly inspect their shorelines and outbuildings in the search for White. Described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds, White was last seen wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt.
The search for White began on Saturday night around 11:30 when he set out alone in a kayak from his vacation rental on the south side of Nest Lake. Concerns arose when he failed to return as expected.
Deputies initiated an open water and shoreline search, which led to the discovery of White’s empty kayak on Sunday afternoon.
