Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department had a busy day on April 27th, 2024, with a variety of incidents keeping deputies on their toes. The day started with Deputy DiSilvestro responding to a 911 call from the Kingfield Woodman Restaurant, which turned out to be accidental. Sheriff Nichols and Chief Lowell then participated in a speaking engagement at the Wilton Fish and Game.

Throughout the day, there were reports of accidents, including a car vs. tree incident on Foster Hill Road in Freeman Township, where Wayne Eaton struck a tree with his Subaru Outback. Later, a two-vehicle accident on the Lexington Road in Kingfield involved Christina Oelmann and Cody Cyr, resulting in slight injuries.

Other incidents included a suspicious vehicle on School Street in Rangeley, a 5-year-old walking down Route 27 in New Vineyard, and a theft complaint of three dirt bikes on Carthage Road in Carthage. There were also reports of gunshots in Chesterville, a medical emergency due to drug use in Kingfield, and a parking complaint in Kingfield.

On April 28th, there was a domestic disturbance in Eustis, a disabled vehicle on Foster Hill Road in Freeman Township, and a request to remove a person from the Spillover Motel in Coplin Plantation. Deputy Frost also investigated a theft complaint on the Carthage Road, a possible bail violation in Strong, and a road rage incident on the Stratton Road in Rangeley.

The following day, Deputy Wacome assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle on the Rangeley Road in Lang Township, investigated a burglary complaint on the Carthage Road, and a counterfeit cash complaint in Carthage. Additionally, Deputy Gray received complaints about a person living in a camper in Kingfield, a road rage incident in Kingfield, and a VIN verification in Chesterville.

Deputies conducted various welfare checks, responded to car accidents, and assisted with investigations throughout Franklin County. The Sheriff’s Department remained vigilant in ensuring the safety and security of the community.
