On May 4, 2024, Tariro and her mother attended a gathering at the African Apostolic Church, where a prophetess named Madzimai Chigora allegedly accused Tariro of no longer being chaste. Despite vehemently denying the claim, Tariro was subjected to a forced chastity test, which reportedly indicated that she was no longer pure.
