Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man and woman from Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a significant age gap of nearly 40 years, are facing disorderly conduct charges after engaging in sexual activity in the lobby of the Waukesha County Jail. The individuals involved in this unusual incident are Desmound Cleveland, 28, and Karen Hill, 67.
The incident, which took place on Thursday, May 2, prompted a sheriff’s deputy to respond to a call regarding disorderly conduct and lewd behavior at the Waukesha County Jail lobby. The jail supervisor reported that two individuals, later identified as Karen Hill and Desmound Cleveland, were caught engaging in sexual acts in the lobby. Despite the deputy’s arrival, Karen Hill remained at the scene.
Video surveillance footage obtained by the deputy revealed the intimate encounter between Hill and Cleveland around 3 a.m. on that fateful Thursday. The footage clearly captured the pair engaging in sexual activity within the jail lobby.
When questioned by the deputy, Karen Hill claimed that Desmound Cleveland was her boyfriend, and they had originally intended to spend time at a boarding house. However, they found themselves locked out and decided to take a nap in the jail lobby. Hill admitted that the sexual encounter was consensual and tried to cover themselves with clothing to avoid being seen.
Desmound Cleveland, on the other hand, simply stated, “sex happens,” when asked about the incident. He acknowledged being aware of the presence of surveillance cameras in the area.
Both Karen Hill and Desmound Cleveland appeared in Waukesha County court on Friday, May 3, where they were each given a signature bond of $1,000 for the disorderly conduct charges.
The incident has drawn attention to a perceived lack of authority in the county to address such behavior. Waukesha County Supervisor Peter Wolff expressed the need for a loitering ordinance to prevent similar incidents in the future. He mentioned that while individuals with legitimate business purposes are welcome, those loitering or engaging in inappropriate behavior will be addressed through the proposed ordinance.
Wolff refrained from commenting specifically on the case involving Hill and Cleveland but confirmed plans to introduce the loitering ordinance later in May to address such incidents more effectively..
