Atlanta Police Issue BOLO for Murder Suspect

The Atlanta Police Department has issued a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert on behalf of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for a man wanted in connection to a murder case. The suspect, 34-year-old Deandre Rogers, is wanted in connection to the shooting death of Candace Powell in Indianapolis.

Incident Details

The tragic incident took place on March 14 when IMPD officers responded to Methodist Hospital on Senate Avenue after receiving reports of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers found Candace Powell with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by paramedics to save her, Powell succumbed to her injuries.

Further investigation by IMPD revealed that the shooting occurred on Prospect Street, and Powell was later dropped off at the hospital in her car after the incident.

Suspect identified

Detectives working on the case identified Deandre Rogers as a potential suspect in the murder of Candace Powell. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant for Rogers’ arrest on charges of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer, and unlawful carrying of a handgun. These charges are in connection to a prior felony conviction within the last 15 years.


Police Appeal for Information

IMPD detectives are urging anyone with information on Deandre Rogers’ whereabouts to come forward. They can contact 911 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477. Rogers is known to have connections to the Houston, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia areas.

Authorities have not disclosed how Rogers managed to make his way to Atlanta. They have also cautioned the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Individuals providing information leading to Rogers’ arrest may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
