The Pune Crime Branch has recovered £2.5 lakh in cash from Atul Ghatkamble, an associate of the two doctors arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence related to a deadly crash involving a Porsche driven by a minor on May 19. Ghatkamble was apprehended on Monday, along with Dr Ajay Taware and Dr Shrihari Halnor, who are now in police custody until May 30. The minor was taken to Sassoon Hospital for a medical examination on the day of the fatal accident, which claimed the lives of two software engineers from Madhya Pradesh. The Pune Crime Branch Recovers Cash From Man Involved in Tampering with Evidence

In a recent development in the case of the deadly May 19 crash involving a Porsche car driven by a minor, the Pune Crime Branch has made a significant breakthrough. Cash amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh has been recovered from Atul Ghatkamble, who is believed to be associated with the two doctors arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence in connection to the incident.

Arrest of the Suspects

Atul Ghatkamble was apprehended by the authorities on Monday, shortly after the arrest of Dr Ajay Taware, the head of the Forensic Medicine department at Sassoon General Hospital, and Dr Shrihari Halnor, the chief medical officer of the state-run hospital. The trio has been placed in police custody until May 30 for further investigation.

Incident at Sassoon Hospital

The minor involved in the fatal accident that resulted in the tragic deaths of two software engineers from Madhya Pradesh was taken to Sassoon Hospital for a medical examination on the day of the incident. It was during this time that the alleged tampering with evidence took place.

Role of Atul Ghatkamble

According to the Pune Crime Branch, Atul Ghatkamble, who was working under Dr Taware, was responsible for handling the cash that was recovered from Dr Halnor. The funds were seized by the police following questioning of the chief medical officer.
