The recent fire incident at a children’s hospital in Vivek Vihar, Delhi has left the entire nation in shock. The hospital, known as Baby Care Centre, was found to be operating without a valid No Objection Certificate, which had expired on March 31. Despite having permission for only five beds, the hospital was accommodating more than ten infants, highlighting serious violations of safety regulations.

It has been alleged that the hospital lacked a proper fire exit system, further compounding the tragedy. The fire, believed to have been caused by a short circuit, resulted in the death of six infants, with one infant tragically passing away before the blaze broke out.

The Delhi Police have arrested the owner of the hospital, identified as Naveen Kichi, who is also reported to own three other clinics in the city. The authorities have added relevant sections of the law to the case, focusing on negligence and violations of safety standards.
