In a heart-pounding turn of events, a routine theft investigation in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska, escalated into a high-speed chase that kept law enforcement officers on their toes.
Suspect Vehicle Identified
The drama began around 10:30 p.m. when the Fairbanks Criminal Suppression Unit (FCSU) received a report of a felony theft involving a generator from a downtown property. The suspect vehicle was quickly identified, and law enforcement sprang into action.
High-Speed Pursuit
As the suspect vehicle was spotted driving on Airport Way near South Cushman, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. However, the driver had other plans and took off at a dangerously high rate of speed, leading officers on a wild chase through the bustling streets of downtown Fairbanks.
Foot Chase Through Neighbourhoods
The pursuit intensified as the suspect vehicle ran multiple stop signs and weaved through neighbourhoods at breakneck speed. Eventually, the driver made a daring move by abandoning the vehicle while it was still in motion and fleeing on foot.
