The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound on US-59 when it veered across the center line, ultimately coming to a stop at the bottom of a ditch ravine on the east side of the road. The driver, identified as Timothy John Vanleeuwen, 36, from Savonburg, was ejected from the vehicle and sadly did not survive the crash, despite wearing a seat belt.
