Photos from the arrest showed a large number of stolen items, including high-end groceries and clothing. Man Arrested for Stealing Over $100,000 Worth of Items from Target Stores in Southern California
A man from Los Angeles has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $100,000 worth of merchandise from Target stores across Southern California. The suspect, identified as Akop Galadzhyan, 50, was apprehended by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the organized retail theft.
Suspected Retail Theft Crew Member Arrested
Galadzhyan is believed to be a member of an organized retail theft crew that has been targeting businesses throughout the Southland region. His arrest came after he was caught leaving a Thousand Oaks store with over $1,000 worth of stolen goods on May 21.
Stolen Items Recovered
During the arrest, authorities discovered a large quantity of stolen items in Galadzhyan’s possession, including ribeye steaks, bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne, Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Bull, Starbucks coffee, Fiji water, Topo Chico, and various clothing items. The stolen merchandise is valued at over $100,000.
Connection to Multiple Thefts
Further investigation revealed evidence linking Galadzhyan to at least a dozen other retail thefts in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Simi Valley. Detectives are now working to locate additional suspects involved in the series of thefts.
Legal Proceedings
Following his arrest, Galadzhyan was booked into the Sheriff’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility with bail set at $100,000. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 23 at the Ventura County Superior Court.
